Since their invention, FPGAs have continuously and rapidly expanded in their capabilities. Evidence of this growth is abundant whether one looks at the core programmable logic that went from tens to millions of gates with added arithmetics, memory, clocking, and processing functions or at the I/O ring that has gone from a few I/Os to over a thousand, supporting numerous single-ended and differential standards with on-chip terminations and data rates into the gigabit per second range. The combination of rich feature set with device programmability and re-programmability has made FPGAs highly adaptive to design changes during and after product development and, consequently, is very attractive to a large variety of applications. For these reasons, there is growing acceptance of FPGAs as central components in system design. With this in mind, the following pages present a set of methodologies for efficient PCB design involving FPGAs. White Paper: Xilinx FPGAs

Design Framework for Partial Run-Time FPGA Reconfiguration

Partial reconfiguration (PR) reveals many opportunities for integration into FPGA design for potential system optimizations such as reduced area, increased performance, and increased functionality. Even though recent advances in Xilinx’s Virtex-4 and Virtex-5 FPGA devices and design tools significantly improve the practicality of incorporating PR, unfortunately, system designers largely lack su...

Thermodynamics Study of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) Passing through SWNT and Their Removal from Environment

Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) have been widely used to flame-retard products common in homes and theworkplace, and subsequently. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) typify a class of highly toxic, stable aromaticpollutants. PCBs are recently being scrutinized for potential environment damage in groundwater and in theatmosphere. The elimination of chemical pollutants from a contaminated environm...

Signal Integrity Analysis with Third-Party Tools

As FPGA devices are used in high-speed applications, signal integrity and timingmargin between the FPGA and other devices on the printed circuit board (PCB) are important aspects to consider to ensure proper systemoperation. To avoid time-consuming redesigns and expensive board respins, the topology and routing of critical signals must be simulated. The high-speed interfaces available on curren...

Method integration: An approach to develop agent oriented methodologies

Agent oriented software engineering (AOSE) is an emerging field in computer science  and  proposes some systematic ideas for multi agent systems analysis, implementation and maintenance. Despite the various methodologies introduced in the agent-oriented software engineering, the main challenges are defects in different aspects of methodologies. According to the defects resulted from weaknesses ...
